[wp-pro] Rewriting wpautop in Ruby

I'm working on a small project to use an existing WordPress database
from within a Ruby application. I'd like help in dealing with the text
filtering that WordPress performs on "the_content" -- in particular
the "wpautop" function. Essentially, I'd like this function (and any
it calls) to be rewritten in Ruby so that I can achieve identical
output.
