[wp-pro] Help diagnosing WP problems; WishList Member expert?

Hello, everyone! My blog (http://mindmappingsoftwareblog.com) is having
some stability problems. Periodically, it overloads the shared server on
which it is running, causing HostGator to shut it down. They suspect a
plug-in is causing the problems. But my attempts to isolate which one (by
deactivating them one at a time) hasn't helped us to zero in on the
problem. I suspect WishList Member could be the culprit, because the
problems started a while after I installed and configured that plug-in.

Over the weekend, HostGator tech support recommended that my blog be
updated from WP 2.6 to 2.9.2. However, when we did that, the home page
completely broke. An entire year's worth of content simply disappeared, and
a large area of featured content (displaying the latest posts from each
content category) was also gone. When they rolled the blog back to v2.6,
everything magically reappeared.

Well, almost everything. This morning, I discovered that an entire week's
worth of my latest posts have gone missing. HostGator claims they did a
backup on Friday before they started to make changes to the blog, and
that's what they restored from. Those posts should be there, but they
aren't. Now I see that WishList Member is hosed. I can't get to several
pages that I know I should be able to access. They exist, the permissions
are set, but all I get is a 404 page not found error.

Is there anyone out there who is experienced with both WP and WishList
Member who can help me to diagnose and fix these problems?

Best Regards,

Chuck Frey
