[wp-pro] need recent post with categories added and a plugin fix

I need to customize a simple listing of "recent posts" so it displays  
" short date : category: post title" and have it exclude specific  
categories from the list.

I also need someone to finish a gallery plugin another programmer got  
99% done, just has 1 bug that needs fixed.

should be a 30 min job for both these things for anyone with WP  
knoledge, I'd do it myself if I had the time.
