[wp-forums] Curiosity. Why is it so difficult to create multiple instances of TinyMCE?

The use of TinyMCE edit in custom posts or the much vaunted Custom
Client Options Page seems like it would be a simple matter of just
assigning a class or call a function on a textarea like the current
TinyMCE uses. But from what I have read there's a lot of hard coded
bits in WP's TinyMCE that prevents multiple instances on a single
page, post admin view without a lot of hacking, and even then it's
buggy at best.

I have yet to find an actual working document that shows how to
implement this requested custom page creation.

So it's just a curiosity if others have encountered this or if it was
a target for next release or even know as an issue.
