I very much agree. However I think there is a difference for the
end-user between the following answers to a "sending referrers" answer.

1.
http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#Why_do_I_get_an_error_message_about_Sending_Referrers.3F

2.
Please go to this link and follow all the steps listed:
http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#Why_do_I_get_an_error_message_about_Sending_Referrers.3F
If that does not work, please do post back and tell us what browser you
are using, what anti-virus, what operating system, what firewall and
anything else you think might be relevant. And have you changed /
updated any programs recently ? We'll then try to help further.

For me, (1) is RTFM and don't come back.
However (2) is "Here is something useful - and it acts as an intro to
codex too - but we know it's not perfect so please post back but in a
way that helps us to help you."

I like (2).
(1) causes much gnashing of teeth :)
