 Maybe a test during setup along thew following lines may be helpful to
 folks:  If installer chooses subdomains during the install, test to see if
 "test. " . blogurl exists.  If true, continue with displaying login info
 and link.  If not, point out the wildcard instructions included with the
 download, note to the installer that they are required, link to either
 their local copy or one here on trac, and then follow with the login info.

 It would seem like a wildcard check would help a great number folks who
 bypass the install instructions.
