 Since WPMU 2.8.1 was released, there has been 11 commits to the 2.8
 branch:

 [1860], [1861], [1862], [1864], [1868], [1869], [1872], [1873], [1875],
 [1876], [1877]

 (as per http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/log/branches/2.8).

 These fixes are great, but I also think the version number in wp-
 includes/version.php should be increased (similarly to how it is for the
 WordPress 2.8 branch).

 See http://core.trac.wordpress.org/log/branches/2.8 for how WP does it.
 After 2.8.1 was released (rev 11700), the WP version number was increased
 in rev 11710.
