 It looks like the update check should occur every 12 hours (according to
 wp_version_check in wp-includes/update.php).

 So I'm that the WPMU update API has been fixed in the last 12 hours and
 that all the WPMU 2.7 installs out there will automatically correct
 themselves next time the update check occurs?
