Foreign Key Constriants... Yes thats right I don't seem them due to the
myisam tables. Normally this would only be HORRIBLE practice and an
example to others of what never to do however recently I have seen data
corruption issues relating to id miss-matches.
I am not sure who was responsible for this beautiful idea, but its causing
some serious data integrity issues that are forcing our institution away
from wordpress and toward a robust commercial alternative.
I have heard that the reason for this idea was that the wordpress
developers would like to maintain backwards compatibility with databases
that maybe older than god. (Maybe they should have just used flat files)
Anyway to bottom line is that it is not stable or robust enough for
28,000+ tables. If something goes wrong as it has in my case, your only
feasible option is to scrap everyones blog and start over.
I don't suspect anything is going to get done about this, but it was
suggested that I post it anyway.
