 Alright, not sure if this did it, but the [http://www.svenkubiak.de
 /wordpress-plugin/ Change-Uploaded-File-Permissions plugin] (Sorry, it's
 German, but easy to translate via google) seems to have worked for
 me...now when I delete files, they go away.

 Not sure why, as it sets the same permissions as I had before, but I'm not
 complaining.

 Note - This could have nothing to do with it...I just installed this
 plugin (have not tested deleting for a long while) and now the files are
 off the server.

 I'll leave as assigned unless someone wants to mark it...not sure which is
 appropriate
