I have found this modification necessary.
For example, logging in at:
http://example.com/blogs/user1/wp-admin (no trailing slash)
redirects the user to:
http://example.com/user1/wp-admin/
but with kipit's suggested modification the user is redirected to the
correct login page.
Without kipit's suggested modification, the user has to include the
trailing slash in order to be redirected to the login page:
http://example.com/blogs/user1/wp-admin/
This will redirect OK but most users wouldn't think to include the
trailing slash.
