== Abridged: ==
(6:42:50 AM) MartinCleaver: ok. do you back the idea of moving the
documentation to codex?
(6:43:10 AM) donncha_: sure, that's a great idea!
(6:43:23 AM) donncha_: Trac was used before just because it was there
(6:44:00 AM) MartinCleaver: Ok. So how about you email Matt and ask him to
give me the rights to edit the trac wiki?
== Full version: ==
(6:18:24 AM) MartinCleaver: donncha_:
http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/wiki/UpgradingWpmu - this is really old?
(6:19:37 AM) MartinCleaver: There is no fricking date on this page
06:20
(6:20:03 AM) donncha_: it's very old -
http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/wiki/UpgradingWpmu?action=diff&version=8 :)
(6:21:02 AM) MartinCleaver: ok. can I change it?
(6:21:35 AM) donncha_: I'm not sure who have access to it tbh, are you
logged into trac?
(6:21:40 AM) donncha_: is there an edit button?
(6:21:54 AM) MartinCleaver: Am logged in. No edit button
(6:22:07 AM) MartinCleaver: this is the problem with locked down content
(6:22:26 AM) donncha_: sure is, is there an upgrade page on the wpmu
section of the codex?
(6:22:41 AM) donncha_: that's probably a better place to put it, I'll edit
that page and point it there
(6:23:03 AM) MartinCleaver: great one sec. Let me copy the content into a
page
(6:24:42 AM) MartinCleaver: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WPMU
06:25
(6:25:07 AM) donncha_: cool :)
(6:27:35 AM) MartinCleaver: ok, am ready for you to repoint the
UpgradingWpmu page
06:30
(6:32:48 AM) MartinCleaver: donncha_: are there special instructions that
I should point someone at re: (1) use the ABC tool to back up as per WP
(2) do something or other to adjust for WPMU
(6:33:36 AM) donncha_: Just the readme file really
06:35
(6:37:45 AM) MartinCleaver: I just looked through /README.txt for wpmu
1.2.3
(6:37:55 AM) MartinCleaver: which part of that document should we refer
them to?
(6:38:40 AM) MartinCleaver: there is nothing in there about backups, for
instance
(6:39:07 AM) donncha_: feel like writing something?
06:40
(6:40:20 AM) MartinCleaver: did you fix up that link?
http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/wiki/UpgradingWpmu
(6:40:30 AM) donncha_: nope, not yet
(6:41:31 AM) MartinCleaver: How about giving me write permissions to the
pages on trac and I'll move all the content onto codex?
(6:42:07 AM) MartinCleaver: write once documentation is painful as you
miss everyone's upadtes
(6:42:13 AM) MartinCleaver: then people don't bother reading
(6:42:18 AM) MartinCleaver: they just ask questions instead
(6:42:28 AM) MartinCleaver: so we get all this noise in the forums
(6:42:32 AM) donncha_: I don't think I can. I think Matt is probably the
only one who can change perms of users there
(6:42:50 AM) MartinCleaver: ok. do you back the idea of moving the
documentation to codex?
(6:43:10 AM) donncha_: sure, that's a great idea!
(6:43:23 AM) donncha_: Trac was used before just because it was there
(6:44:00 AM) MartinCleaver: Ok. So how about you email Matt and ask him to
give me the rights to edit the trac wiki?
(6:44:17 AM) donncha_: can you just copy/paste the content?
(6:44:18 AM) MartinCleaver: cc me please: Martin at Cleaver.org
(7:16:14 AM) MartinCleaver: donncha_: re: can I just copy & paste the
content? Yes, but then I would need to keep a record of where I was in the
process
(7:16:30 AM) MartinCleaver: besides, I don't want duplicate content
(7:16:45 AM) MartinCleaver: having a copy in trac and another on codex is
very messy
(7:16:55 AM) MartinCleaver: and demotivating for me
(7:17:22 AM) MartinCleaver: so, no, I'd much rather do the work once I
know it is going to be used
