[wp-ui] joining the chat

Tim,

 

You need to download an IRC program like mIRC or something similar.

 

You'll connect to the #freenode server, and the room to join is
#wordpress-ui .  A lot of the chat programs will give a GUI on changing your
name and all that good stuff.

I'd like to join the UI weekly chat but I'm challenged to understand how (at
least this should ease Jane's concern that folks on this list are too much
like coders).

Suggestions on an IRC how-to in plain English?

The Freenode FAQ has instructions like this:

Register your IRC nick: 

/msg nickserv register <your-password> <your-email>

 

Which is not very meaningful to me.  Like I type this where?
