 Hey @carbondigitalus

 I checked this issue but I cannot reproduce it.

 From my observation,
 The outer `<figure>` element with class `.wp-block-gallery.has-nested-
 images` is getting the `display: flex` css through another class `is-
 layout-flex`.
 I checked this with mentioned WP version 6.9.4

 I hope you are testing with default WP theme and no plugin active.
