Comment:

 I'm going to punt this to 7.1.

 While this would be a nice to have, I don't think it's critical for 7.0
 and there has not been any activity in 4+ weeks. If another committer
 disagrees and has the capacity to wrap this up in the next 1-2 weeks, it
 can be moved back since it's a test related change.

 I also just created #64970 to explore running these tests through a GitHub
 Actions workflow. It would be helpful for verification purposes when
 adding new tests, and ensure that the tests are actually run at all.
