 I share @swissspidy's concern regarding Meta's past practices of
 privatizing public APIs. Facebook and Instagram were following industry
 oEmbed standards up until they weren't.

 Maintaining Threads embeds in a plugin will at least allow for an API
 field to be added of a Meta business team makes the same decision in the
 future.
