 WP has a great management of img src sets. But I think it could be
 upgraded.

 For Art direction in responsive images it's essential to have cropped
 versions of the images. WP allows to crop but not to keep the old
 (original) one, which could be reused for cropping in different formats.

 It keeps the original image in the server but with no more access to it.
 It's kind of a waste, it could allow to reuse it - but never destroy it.

 Also, it would be great to improve a bit the images control - they are a
 huge part in resources.

 Right now, WP makes 6 versions of images plus the original one (with no
 access). But it only allows the control over 3 of them in settings.

 Maybe this could be revamped to be more efficient and re-useful. The "edit
 image" could have more options (at least, duplicate when cropping) - and a
 link or in place control of the image_size control setting, according to
 role.
