 @nickchomey I can’t remember. the availability factor is a huge blocker
 anyway, but I may have tried using [https://github.com/krowinski/php-
 mysql-replication this PHP implementation of the replication log]. it was
 an exploratory hackathon-like experience, so the conclusion wasn’t that
 it’s impossible, just that it wasn’t readily obvious that it would work.
