Comment:

 Tested against current trunk (7.0-alpha). The attached patch no longer
 applies cleanly, and this ticket has not seen activity in ~10 years.

 Given the age of this ticket and changes to the build tooling since then,
 it would be good to confirm whether this is still relevant or needed.

 Removing `needs-testing` and adding `reporter-feedback` to request
 confirmation from the original reporter or component maintainers before
 further work is done.
