 WordPress.org will just follow suit to whatever core does :)

 I ''personally'' feel that the new blue is too bright and "attention
 grabbing" for the top of the login screen, which is why I suggested the
 grey version, which is more subtle, but I'll defer to those with Design
 skills.

 Historically WordPress Core has mostly ''(always?)'' used the non-
 simplified logo (ie. The back button in the post editor), where as
 WordPress.com has used the simplified one (or variations thereof).
