Comment:

 Looking at how this is set up, I don't think we have a lot of choice about
 using `!important` in this context.

 I also don't think it's a major concern - although it can introduce long-
 term issues for style dependencies, the fact that the customizer is
 largely a legacy interface which is only receiving maintenance changes, I
 don't think this is a major concern.
