 If the dev note feels insufficient and there is no current documentation
 for this in wp.org/documentation, then let's not add it.

 Regarding terminology, I tried a more explicit version that uses default
 or enhanced and shows the technology used.

 I also moved the performance text to the descriptive area below the
 checkbox, as in other fields across Settings.

 For the disabled message, I’m drawn to use the Notice info variant. We
 know the design is poor, but using the right component and then updating
 it to the [https://wordpress.github.io/gutenberg/?path=/story/design-
 system-components-notice--info new version] sounds like the best move for
 consistent improvement.
