Comment:

 I'm not clear on what's left here. It looks like there are some
 suggestions above that are not yet integrated in the solution here. Mainly
 @jorbin's suggestion to include a way to force enable, not just force
 disable.

 Removing the `commit` keyword because it seems that everything that is
 "ready" has already been committed.

 It also seems that a number of people who participated on the Trac ticket
 did not receive props. Could we please make sure to props liberally,
 including anyone who attempts to positively contribute to the ticket's
 resolution.
