Comment:

 Not only sorting. Anything is remembered in any of the administration
 screens.
 Maybe with the [https://make.wordpress.org/design/2023/08/10/admin-design-
 kickoff/ future Admin], this can be proposed as a new feature. Feel free
 to comment this idea in that post

 For now, I'm closing this as `maybelater`.
