 Quick follow-up:
 After further testing, I confirmed that the issue was not related to
 WordPress core.
 It was caused by non-core files injected at the hosting level (including a
 stray /wp-includes/class-IXR-comment.php that redeclared get_page() and
 several error_log files inside core directories).

 Once those files were removed and the modified core files replaced with
 the official 6.8.3 versions, everything worked perfectly again.

 Apologies for the noise — the original report was made in good faith,
 before deeper verification.
 Leaving this note in case it helps others who experience similar symptoms
 after 6.8.3 updates.
