 In English language versions of WordPress, the default category is named
 "Uncategorized" (or "Uncategorised" English variants outside of North
 America).

 As categorising something as uncategorised is a bit of a misnomer, I think
 it would be good to rename the default category as "General" or similar.

 Based on a quick [https://www.google.com/search?q=inurl:category/general
 Google search], renaming the default category to General is relatively
 common.

 Based on another

 Google search], it also appears to be relatively common that WordPress
 users get stuck with the old `category/uncategorized` URL for the renamed
 category, presumably for SEO purposes.

 While existing WP installs would be stuck with content categorised as
 uncategorised, I think it would be an improvement to rename the default
 for new installs.
