 Thanks for sharing @edge22! That's also my concern about the deprecation
 notice. This is more an issue where it's an opportunity for knowledgeable
 devs to remove some code that won't do anything, but does no harm to stay
 in place.

 This patch was specifically committed with the intent to remove the
 deprecation notice if it appeared to be a problem, so any feedback to help
 indicate that is useful.
