 Thanks everyone for your contributions on this ticket. Just noting that
 the fix is in trunk, meaning it will become available to everyone in a few
 weeks with the release of WordPress 6.9.

 I will leave this open in case we want to ship the fix for the 6.8 branch
 as well.
