Comment (by donohoe):

Hello - just here to say that I am always surprised and frustrated when
upgrading WordPress and finding its injecting new STYLE tags into my site.
My team and I spend a lot of time on the CSS side and these seemingly
random additions outside of our control are perplexing.

I have a an entire file called ''unregister.php'' dedicated to removing,
or working around, all these additions that we either do not need or
interfere with intentional approaches in our custom theme.

I would expect things like this to be part of the latest default theme but
having it in core feels short-sighted imho.
