 I saw this first image and I quickly identified it as Block Editor.

 Now I'm seeing between all the comments you mention to Classic Editor
 which I completely overlooked it.
 The transformer scripts for RTL were working correctly.
 I will check again with classic editor to see if I can reproduce and
 continue with the testing, overall it could be a nice add to the theme
