 Thanks again for your support and for sharing the patch!

 Here’s a short summary of how things happened on our side:

     After the update to WordPress 6.8.0, the PNG image appeared distorted
 on the frontend.

     While we were discussing the issue here, version 6.8.1 was released.

     We updated the site to 6.8.1, but the image issue was still present.

     Only after we manually re-uploaded the image did it display correctly
 again.

 Since the problem no longer occurs, we’re currently not able to reproduce
 it and therefore can’t test the patch directly – but we appreciate your
 effort and the detailed instructions!
