Reading through this long post, I can't really make up to which conclusion
we have ended and which testing should be done and more importantly, to
which patch. Since this is on hold and no clear solution has been
provided, with clear testing instructions for such. Maybe someone has
developed any performance testing code to be shared for benchmarking
solutions or to be improved to include more factors like total memory
consumption?
Perhaps we could assume that there will not be any perfect solution
anytime soon, but we have a baseline (current scenario, so anything that
improves that in all variables taken by a benchmarking code provided,
should be enough, for now, to pass this ticket, am I wrong?
For now I would like to see such benchmarking code, like the one used by
@joemcgill
