@peterwilsoncc Thanks again for the follow-up. Below are detailed
responses to the subjective evaluation criteria for oEmbed provider
inclusion:
* Is the service popular enough for core developers to have heard of it
before? Is it “mainstream?”
* Panda Video is one of the fastest-growing video hosting platforms in
Brazil and Latin America, serving thousands of customers, including
businesses, content creators, and marketing teams. While our core market
is in Brazil, we also have active customers across South America and the
United States. Within our market, we are considered a mainstream and
trusted solution — similar to Wistia or Vimeo.
* If similar services are already supported, how does this service compare
in terms of size, features, and backing?
* Panda Video offers a complete video hosting solution, comparable to
Wistia and Vimeo. We provide features such as a customizable player,
advanced video analytics, video funnel builder, API access, captioning,
secure video delivery via CDN, and more. The service is backed by a
dedicated team and is 100% bootstrapped and independent.
* Does this service have an established social media presence?
* Yes, we are active on several platforms and maintain ongoing engagement
with our community:
• Instagram
• YouTube
• LinkedIn
* Is its oEmbed endpoint clearly established and properly documented?
* Yes. Our oEmbed endpoint is public and fully documented:
* https://pandavideo.readme.io/reference/oembed
* Does the oEmbed endpoint work with WordPress’ oEmbed auto-discovery? If
not, could it be made to work with additional HTML tags or attributes
being added to the allow-list?
* Yes, our oEmbed implementation is compatible with WordPress’ auto-
discovery mechanism as long as the URL is on the allow list. We are open
to any necessary adjustments for full compliance.
* Does the service make an effort to build relationships with developers,
such as through robust APIs?
* Yes. We offer a complete API platform, public documentation, SDKs, and
examples to help developers deeply integrate with Panda Video. Our API is
used for uploading, managing videos, collecting stats, and more:
* https://pandavideo.readme.io
* How old is the service?
* Panda Video was launched in early 2021 and has grown steadily over the
last 3+ years
* Does it have a well-established Wikipedia article?
* We have already submitted a Wikipedia article and are currently
awaiting its publication. The page is under review, and we will share the
link as soon as it is live.
* Has anyone written a WordPress plugin that leverages the service in some
way?
* Our plugin already uses our oEmbed API to embed videos directly in
posts/pages, providing a smooth experience for users. However, we believe
that having Panda Video on the core oEmbed allow list would be beneficial
for both current and future users who want oEmbed support out of the box,
even without needing to install the plugin.
* Is the provider frequently proposed?
* This is our second proposal. Our first submission was made about three
years ago, when the project was just starting to grow. Since then, Panda
Video has evolved significantly and is now a widely adopted platform.
We’re excited to revisit this request with a stronger case for inclusion.
