 fine in the editor, but the image is not displayed in the frontend.

 It seems that the safecss_filter_attr function is not called for some
 blocks.

 I want to add a new format to the Gutenberg Rich text (using the
 registerFormatType function). This new format adds a span tag with
 background image.
 Everything works fine with blocks like paragraph or heading but not with
 blocks like navigation menu and Read More. Actually everything is fine in
 editor but it is not displayed in frontend.

 After checking I found out that the problem is with the
 safecss_filter_attr function which doesn't work properly with base64
 images data URI.
