 @wesrapyd I've been discussing with @joemcgill and I'm going to work on
 evaluating the current state of `trunk` against the
 [https://make.wordpress.org/core/2023/06/20/proposal-criteria-for-
 removing-beta-support-from-each-php-8-version/ most recently published
 (proposed) guidelines].

 Self-assigning to evaluate what is remaining for this specific ticket, and
 whether we can split this into smaller tickets going forward.
