 Quick update. I opened a draft PR of changes I made during WCUS
 contributor day for reference. I did get the Global events pulling in but
 this is very much a WIP and a bit experimental at this point. There will
 need to be work to over come the MeetUp API issues listed above and
 getting the locale working properly. I'll work on refining this over the
 next few weeks.
