 Regarding the check placement, I think it seems like a cleaner logical
 separation. Since the action only enqueues scripts and doesn't echo any
 output, I don't think it would cause the unintended consequences you
 mentioned.

 However, a more minimal fix in the original location (after `ob_start()`)
 also works. I'm happy to move it back. Which approach do you think is
 best?
