Comment:

 This weekend I was thinking about how often I write custom functions to
 sanitize an array of data. Something like this could be useful.

 I took a quick look at the PR. It need some phpunit tests. I'm also
 requesting a 2nd opinion from some core devs about interest in taking this
 on.
