 discussion] during dev-chat today, it was decided to close this ticket.

 p.s. the [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/raw-
 attachment/ticket/43738/43738-2.diff updated patch (43738-2.diff)] I just
 added fixes a bug in 43738-1.diff...and I added that fix knowing that I
 would be closing this ticket.  I added that fix for future folks who may
 want to reopen this ;-)
