 Hi all,

 It seems this was fixed, or was perhaps an issue with a specific theme?
 I've checked a few themes and see the asterisk is there for the comment
 textarea. Since this doesn't seem to be a bug currently and it's been
 years since any activity, I'm going to close this ticket to help clean up
 Trac. Feel free to reopen if you think there's a bug in WordPress that
 should be fixed.
