 The ticket hasn't seen updates in 4 years, but I see @swissspidy you
 refreshed the PR https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/476
 with `trunk` a few months ago. Is this something we should move forward?
 Does it only need code review/iteration/approval, or is there more
 foundational discussion to have about this?
