Comment:

 As this cycle is ending and we have outlined a few other things need doing
 in collaboration with this my recommendation would be to put this to a
 future release and revert what was done. That doesn't mean we aren't going
 to get it in, what it does mean is we can consider all aspect with more
 time. I am basing this on a few things:

 - Feedback from those in this ticket.
 - The fact that other areas need color.
 - Impact on plugin and other extenders of the interface.
 - A need for companion changes to go with this.
