 Since the most recent WP release, this item is not working correctly.

 I'm using the most up to date version of the self hosted WordPress
 software.

 Media > Add Media File
 click "Select" button next to "Parent ID" field
 Choose Page/Post to attach media file to.
 The Update button is not activated so you can't select the page/post to
 attach the media file to.
