Comment:

 This seems to be a misunderstanding. The Calendar block does not highlight
 the current day; it contains links to the date archive pages for any days
 that have published posts.

 In your site, you apparently published posts on the 20th and 25th of
 August, plus at least one in July.

 My screenshot shows that the site's posts were published on the 3rd, 4th,
 5th and 21st of August, plus more in June. (Today's post is still a draft,
 so it did not link the 25th.)
