 1.  ✅ Error condition occurs (reproduced).

 === Additional Notes
 - ✅ The issue is reproducible on an iPhone, where the M4A file fails to
 play while the MP3 file plays correctly.
 - 🟠 The issue does not occur by default in Safari on macOS, and I have
 not disabled JavaScript since typical end users are unlikely to do so.
