 OK, I think I found the plugin that's at fault here. I think some change
 in 6.8 triggered a behavioral change there. I see it has some edge cases
 that redirects to profile.php

 Thanks for the help and I'll update if I stil think it's 6.8, but for now
 I think you guys were right.
