 I've forgotten to mention that I returned back the `_doing_it_wrong()` PHP
 notice for slug in my [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-
 develop/pull/8631 GitHub PR].

 So, really the question now is whether we get the filter hook for the
 pattern files in WP6.8.
