Comment:

 The `maybelater` status of this ticket caught my eye, so for clarity I'm
 updating it to `fixed`.

 The bump to minimum PHP 7.2.24 (skipping this 7.1 bump) was addressed in
 [57985], and [https://make.wordpress.org/core/2024/04/08/dropping-support-
 for-php-7-1/ released in WordPress 6.6].
