Comment:

 @sannevndrmeulen The screen reader says "selection replaced" or "selection
 removed" because the value of the value is selected when you focus into
 the input field. When you type or change the value using arrow keys, the
 selection highlight is removed, and that's announced to the user. It's as
 expected!
