 I was able to replicate the errors when `react.js` is served with the
 previous non-umd build (included in WP 6.6.2) and `react-dom.js` has the
 new umd build (included in WP 6.7.1).

 I'll try to find time to submit a patch to append `—umd` to those script
 versions, which should prevent browsers from inconsistently caching during
 WP upgrades.
